The River That Ate Me

Water lapped against the banks of rivers,
Flowing nether fickle skies;
Whilst the moon aglows and stars a-flicker,
Where dost goes their shadows, trickle?

For the grasped moon can ne'er be held,
Nor the stars that shine so bright;
Even so, why do monkeys come,
Trying to catch the light?

Drown, drown drown;
One by one by another.
Fleeting, chaotic, serene and silence;
Between realms of dreams torn asunder.

For they forget, hast the water depth;
For they forget, hast the water strife.
Lest they forget, the essentials of nature;
Hence they pay with life.

All I Can Do Is Try

Did those times exist?

The late nights, the laughter, fatigue, dinners.

Our sore arms, injured bodies.

Smiles plastered on weary faces.

Were they recorded on the sandstones of time; Or are they a figment of imagination?

A notion in my memory, too proud to manifest itself in reality.

A heyday gone sepia.

A passing.

Inconsequential has the ever pressing present reduced the past;

Till doubt overtakes,
And ceases to be.

You could be a sweet dream, or a beautiful nightmare.
Either way,

I don't ever want to wake up from you.

If I Die Young

How people start listening.."

Change Yourself

They said, 'Change yourself.'

I asked, why?

They said, 'Something is very very wrong with you'

'Change yourself, or we won't accept you.'

That night, I managed to subdue it. To bind it.

To tuck it away in a corner where it could do no harm.

Now it's back.

But I can't bring myself to stab it in the heart.

Don't Be A Drag, Just Be A Queen

No matter gay, straight or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to survive

No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to be brave

I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way
